VAN METER CULTURAL FAIR INFORMATION

On May 2nd, our students will have the opportunity to share aspects of their culture with the Van Meter community! They can create a display with items they would like to share about their culture or country of origin. Examples might be maps, flags, clothing, pictures, jewelry, toys, dolls, games, posters, textiles, food tastings or keepsakes. They can also share language, or perform a song or dance. Students can present individually, or partner with other students to create their display or do a performance.

Tables will be set up in the MPR to use for the displays in a science fair format. Display boards can be picked up in the office after 4/17.

All families are invited to enjoy the fair and food trucks! Students will be given "passports" to enjoy throughout the evening as they learn about different cultures. They can use them to journal about what they learn and collect stickers from all of the countries that they 'visit'.

This event will only be as rich and meaningful as the number of countries and cultures that are represented! Please encourage your child to participate by filling out the form found here.
